Under identical laboratory cultures, the growth and pigment contents of the strain were compared with those of Neopyropia yezoensis f. narawaensis, which is the main cultivar currently cultivated in Japan.\nThe conchocelis maturity of OHN-1 was remarkably higher than that of strain HG-4 of Neopy. yezoensis f. narawaensis at higher temperatures of 25 and 30 °C among the 5 temperature conditions (10, 15, 20, 25, 30 °C).
