One of them was recognized as a matured female, 57 cm in total length (TL), because its gonads were large, swollen, and milky white in appearance. \nThis is the first record of the matured female from Tateyama, Chiba Prefecture. Post-ovulatory follicles were observed by histological examination in the ovaries, strongly suggesting that this individual had already spawned.
