DGGE analyses revealed that several kinds of bacteria and fungi were present in DSW and he microbial community structures of attached microbes and free-living microbes differed.\nIn addition, multi-dimensional scaling (MDS) analysis of the obtained DGGE profiles indicated that each community structure of bacteria and fungi changed throughout the year with the exception of a few months.\nFurthermore, sequence analyses of the obtained DGGE profiles to identify microorganisms indicated that bacteria belonging to new genera and novel fungi were present in DSW samples collected from the pumping stations in Izu-Akazawa.
