 note = {本稿は、新型コロナウィルス感染症の感染拡大の懸念が広がるなか、日本で英語試験を運営する民間団体の対応に関する情報を集約したものである。英検、TOEFL、TOEICをサンプルとした。いずれのテストにおいても、非常事態宣言期間中は、すべてのオンサイトでの試験実施は中止となったが、以降、従来の実施方法を超えたテストの在り方につき、実施、および検討が行われている。TOEFLはいち早く指定の試験会場以外での新たな実施形態での試験サービスを開始した。英検は、一定期間の中止および延期の後に再開し、コンピューターによる英検テストが受験者数増加の傾向にある。TOEICは4回の中止に続き、定員制の導入、抽選方式での申込等、従来の申し込み方法に変更を加えている。TOEICは感染症拡大以前に、団体向けテストのオンライン版サービスを開始しており、現在は独自の監督システムがない場合、受験者自身でのセルフチェックの用途で実施されている。, The purpose of this paper is to offer an overview of how private English test operators in Japan reacted and are adapting to serve potential and existing test takers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Three major standardized English tests, Eiken, TOEFL, and TOEIC, were selected as samples. All operators stopped administering on-site tests under the month-long state of emergency and are now coping with the new demand by stretching test availability beyond conventional practices. In response, TOEFL was the first to react with a new service that allows more variation in test taking sites. Restarted after the hiatus, Eiken’s computer-based version is seeing an increase in the number of applicants. TOEIC went through several changes, such as imposition of a limit on the number of applications and adoption of a lottery system.
